Development & Vine Upkeep

Our estate extends over approximately 35 hectares, but only part is cultivated with vines, with a total of approximately 43,000 vines planted during different periods starting from 1989 to 2016. We are preparing new plots for planting in 2017 and 2018.

Our grape variety: our cold and often frosty climate, makes the cultivation of the vine difficult. The grape varieties that can survive our winters are chosen for our vineyard.

We have 2 semi- rustic grapes, Seyval Blanc and Vidal, which we must protect with a geotextile cover during the winter and six rustic grape varieties that do not need winter protection: Frontenac, Frontenac Gris, Frontenac Blanc, Sabrevois, Pionnier and Petite Pearl.

In 2015, we dared our winter climate and we planted vinefra vines like Chardonnay and Cabarnet Franc. We also planted three Italian varitals, Corvina, Rondinella and Molinara to make the famous amarone wine in a few years from now.

Our vineyard is ECOLOGICAL. We are a member of the Club conseils en agroenvironnement: DURA-CLUB. We follow and respect all the advice and guidance of the Ministries of Agriculture and Environment Quebec.

We use the most modern equipment for spraying with the least possible emission in the environment.

Our rows of vines are planted with grass to prevent soil erosion.

To reduce the spraying of pesticides, we invested in new equipment to remove bad weeds and new suks.
